We were lucky enough to chat with co- founder of Julisa; Juliet and ask her all about their amazing company!

How was the idea for Julisa born?

I spent a year to completely overhaul my beauty cabinet to only use clean and cruelty-free products after falling sick with hormonal issues. I grew up with an obsession with magical colour palettes (and sparkly fingernails!). Pairing with my passion to create a community that does good collectively my idea for Julisa was born.

You have kindly gifted our lucky customers some of your ‘5- Free Nail Polish! Tell us about what exactly ‘5-free’ means and what inspired you to make this beautiful nail polish?

Our nail polish is professionally formulated without the major five toxins that could be found in conventional nail polish. They are Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Toluene, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. Other questionable ingredients such as Palm Oil, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, Parabens and anything animal-derived have also never been used in our formulation. Our magical colour palette is inspired by the shimmery scales of a mermaid’s tail in the open sea.

Why do you think it is so important that people are aware of what they are putting on their skin?

The fact that up to 60% of what we put on our skin gets absorbed into the bloodstream is alarming. What we put on our skin is equally important as what we eat as they all end up inside our sacred bodies.

What is your vision for the future of Julisa?

Through Julisa I want to grow our mindful tribe to spread awareness about ethical product choices we make as consumers. I’m working towards growing a community who lives a mindful lifestyle, who loves to share their wellness experiences and gives back.
